IronCAD 2016 Delivers Powerful New Design & Collaboration Tools

ATLANTA GA, November 9th, 2015 - IronCAD, a leading provider of design productivity solutions, today announced their 2016 product release which includes substantial improvements for customers working in the fabrication and assembly sector. Among the noticeable developments are Sheet Metal specific improvements, enhanced smart design capabilities that make it easy to add intelligent rules plus the brand new Mechanical add-in that offers increased utilities for design operations.
The new sheet metal improvements retain the speed, ease of use, and renowned in-place design behaviors but now offer the ability to create more complex bending operations with a new sketched bend command. Additionally, users have the ability to import and use sheet metal data from customers or suppliers as if it were native to IronCAD. The ability to intelligently use non-native geometry dramatically improves customer flexibility and increases productivity. With more powerful bend handling and better lofting profiles for accurate sheet metal manufacturing, IronCAD users can now tackle the most complex fabrication challenges.
IronCAD 2016 launches a new and advance offering of Smart Design tools such as the Smart eBehavior which provides customers with the ability to dynamically drive designs based on optimized product configuration and assembly fit and function. Typically, configuration systems build rules and variables at the part level and are complex engines with a fixed number of variations. IronCAD's Smart eBehavior works with how products are actually configured at the assembly level allowing engineers to work with content, but also permits customers and other stakeholder's access to IronCAD's data. Engineers can build intelligent assemblies that adjust and move according to built-in rules. IronCAD's catalog system further accelerates the design process by enabling reuse of typical components for new product designs. Customers and sales teams can directly configure 3D data to meet customers' requirements and can even communicate new suggestions. In addition to speeding up the production process, the IronCAD interoperability process is secure since all data is returned to the engineering team for conversion to real-world production data.

Some of the key catalogs included with IronCAD Mechanical.

IronCAD's new Mechanical Add-In (IronCAD Mechanical) offers intelligent tools for fabricators such as Industry Standard fasteners, steel sections, piping, flanges, bill of material generation and much more. Because knowledge and behavior is built directly into the intelligent components, typical day-to-day tasks are much simpler and this significantly reduces design time especially for fabricators. IronCAD has announced that the base level proven functionality will be included free of charge to all customers.
IronCAD's 2016 release has many additional new features that continue to make it the most productive design application for the fabrication and assembly sector. To view the full list of improvements, visit http://www.ironcad.com/2016-new-features for a comprehensive list with videos presenting the features.
Cary O'Connor, Vice President of Marketing at IronCAD, stated, "This release marks a huge step forward for fabrication and mechanical design customers. We specifically targeted improvements in the overall productivity of the design process as well as allowing customers to make use of 3D product data. This inclusion of people outside of design group dramatically improves productivity and communication for all stakeholders."
IronCAD DCS 2016 is immediately available with new purchases and to all active support customers.

IronCAD Integrated Analysis Now Provides Fluid Analysis And Reporting

The new CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) module is based on the newest advanced Optimal Least-Square formulation with a velocity-vorticity-pressure equal order/convergence formulation.

ATLANTA GA, November 12th, 2015 - IronCAD, a leading provider of design productivity solutions, today announced a major update to their integrated analysis solution MPIC (Multi-Physics for IronCAD). MPIC provides advanced FEA (Finite Element Analysis) focusing on ease of use for fully coupled multiphysics stress, thermal, electrostatic and fluid analysis.

In the latest release, fluids has been enabled and is fully coupled with stress, thermal and electrical physics for true multiphysics capabilities. The new CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) module is based on the newest advanced Optimal Least-Square formulation with a velocity-vorticity-pressure equal order/convergence formulation.

Other improvements include a new unit system for more flexible metric or US unit system engineering applications. The simulation analysis is computed based on the actual user geometry/material unit to better preserve numerical accuracy. A new energy-based MLS (moving-least-squares) FE tying fills the intended/unintended small gaps/overlapping of parts for general assembly analysis without laborious geometry fixing. In addition, customers now have new reporting options to create meaningful reports of your analysis to easily share among your team.

IronCAD customers will also benefit from a more convenient analysis interface which now employs a contour display slide bar to dynamically vary the contour display to search for peak results. Plus, a new streamline slide bar easily controls the streamline density interactively to trace heat flow, flow line, or any user specified components to easily visualize the physics.

Cary O'Connor, Vice President of Marketing at IronCAD, stated, "MPIC is seamlessly integrated into our 2016 Design Collaboration Suite so it's easy to add material, forces or constraints to run analysis scenarios on IRONCAD models or assemblies. Plus if customers make CAD modifications, the built-in associativity quickly updates and re-solves the analysis. With the new additions for 2016, customers have more advance capabilities all within an easy to use application that can be used to report critical validation information early in the design process."

MPIC is included with full product capabilities including fluids with the standard IronCAD solution for 30-days then extends as a node-limited version allowing you the ability to experiment validation of your designs. Even though the extended version is node-limited, MPIC's technology using SefeaTM (Strain-Enriched Finite Element Analysis) gives you extended capabilities to test you products at a lower mesh level. SefeaTM is the newest enriched finite element formulation developed specifically for low-order 4-node tetrahedron elements commonly used in CAD simulation. It achieves the same accuracy as 2nd-order elements, but is more robust, without mid-side-node noise, and requires much less computing cost.
